Versions I know of Mozart's Requiem that of Hermann Scherchen is one of the best. This is especially the voices are superb and the stereo that for a record 1959 speaks volumes about the knowledge of the time. His pace may seem a little slow at first but it is to better reflect acceleration, energetic passages. Other leaders have managed otherwise but this version stands up very well. Great art that many should listen before recording. For collector considering the price, there are as good for much less.
