This novel intrigued me. A father led his entant on an island for a solo experience in the comfort of a house in the woods. This could have been an initiation novel, an adventure novel. It is quite another thing. The father is not so strong as that. He shows faults, is not at the level both on a practical and mentally. The child can not rely on his father and will begin to doubt up to his inexplicable gesture that leaves the father in a state of torpor alone on the island. His son was shot in the head. The second part is agreed. I learned that the translation from this author is partial and that his work focuses on the relationship between father and son.
