Tested with the latest CrystalDiskMark 3.0.2 x64 version under Win 8 Pro 64Bit. All USB3.0 hard drives were hung from a same cable to create optimal operations, only 2.0 had to another because the other connection.
Here the Seq. Values (under own pictures there is again a graph where the 512K, 4K and 4K QD32 values found):
WD My Passport 2TB Ultra
Read: Write 114.7: 114.6
Toshiba Store.E.Basics 1TB (the standard plate simply because very often on offer, but also the slowest)
Read: 81.21 Write: 79.50
Toshiba Store.E.Alu 2S 1TB (the more upscale class of Toshiba, faster than the basics and stylish aluminum housing)
Read: 94.84 Write: 88.11
Intenso Memory Case 1.5TB (the central thing, cheaper than the WD and slightly more expensive than the basics for very sensitive high gloss casing)
Read: 90.92 Write: 89.10
Intenso 640GB USB2.0 (2.0 a classic from the pre 3.0 times from the year 2009)
Read: 34.96 Write: 29.90
As you can see, the WD stands clear. On the positive side is that the WD a very small white LED has the back next to the port, this is in operation in the dark room absolutely not disturbing as opposed to the Intenso plates where the garishly bright and large LED's located on the top (they have therefore masked with black electrical tape). The Toshiba are these even back as in the WD, but the LEDs are much bigger and shine much more intense compared to the WD so that I had to mask off this well.
I summarize the WD times together:
Pro:
- Very fast
- Quiet
- Compact (less than all of the above it but a little wider)
- Insensitive housing since matte black
- 3 years warranty
- White Mini LED which is hardly noticeable in operation
- Carrying case or bag supplied
Neutral:
- Supplied separately USB3.0 cable only 48cm (which I personally find good though because the hard drive with me to USB Recording hangs behind the TV, others like this but just complain when you put the plate on the desk and want on the computer ... then it very nearly to impossible)
- Weight (236g and thus on average 80g heavier than all panels above). I personally do not care because I do not wear them around with me for another but maybe a criterion
Contraindications:
- Well because I've unfortunately not for you. Perhaps the price but you get even more than the competition as more speed, 3-year warranty and the included bag for transport.
Conclusion:
Excellent 3.0 hard drive with very good read and write speed. The appearance knows how to please, therefore of having full 5 stars.
One more final note, the WD is not nearly as thin as the product images, this act clearly distorted and protracted. It is smaller and higher.
