Like the previous album, "Queen", has "Queen II" in one respect special significance for the history of rock music: The stylistic means, work with which Queen here, already point to the bright future of the formation. Everything that made her famous later and distinctive, can be make while listening to the eleven songs. At the very beginning forwards Brian May and his typical guitar sound the plate and prepares the listener with "Procession" to a listening experience of a special kind before. This is followed by songs that are to excel in their rich diversity hardly. The music sounds a bit less polished and raw as on the album "Queen", but hides in her a great idea potential, which can look fresh and brave songs. Mercury and May have this CD as a songwriter while clearly dominated (which you certainly not at a disadvantage) developed, yet it was "The Loser In The End" mentioned absolutely strong, which is written by drummer Taylor and also sang and a downright contagious dynamics , "Queen II" sounds sometimes a bit overloaded, because the four musicians so many instruments and sounds packed on the tapes, as it was possible. Nevertheless, it is an absolutely recommendable album which smells interest every music lover who wants to deal with the evolution of the Mega Band. There can be no hiding retracts, what a great musical GespĆ¼hr May and especially Mercury had. Distinction: highly recommended!
