I started playing with NHL 98 for PC and since the annual releases. Which reminds me in 2001 and 2002 especially remembered. These were played with a buddy from morning till night. MENU
At the start you have to repeatedly select the language, which now does not necessarily bother me. In addition, one chooses to start his favorite controller and favorite team. Then you're in the main menu, which is rather dull as pretty. Everything seems quite cold and is held in blue style (maybe because of my team, in which blue dominates). The old NHL parts corresponded to my taste. Colorful and with great wallpapers of players that are displayed. Next to the music immediately noticed that do not originate from songs by bands or artists like Madden 15 (seems to me at least as before). It runs all the time a music / melody, as we know from the dramatic action movies or recordings from American sports events. It is thus significantly lost atmosphere and you do not feel well entertained when just looked at statistics, processed rows or transfers are made. On the ice, but then sounded cool and often rocking songs that I would have liked very much in the main menu. Even a playlist menu no longer exists. So one can, not looking for unknown songs that are played on the ice and listen separately. Navigation is also rather poorly resolved and one comes almost exclusively with the shoulder buttons in the submenus. It is my view, anything but fast out of hand. The performance leaves much to be desired. Much seems very delayed self storage takes relatively long. Fun it is not definitely, the sparse held statistics, which I actually very interested to look at. Thus, you will be very glad if you can finally go on the ice ...
ON THE ICE
... I have so far only experience with the GM mode and can thus only there to judge the game. Once you have the jerseys, which also consist of occasional alternatives selected, it is also going on already. At first you get mostly the city of the home team from the helicopter camera shown (great, but poor resolution and a few stuttering here) and then you can see the two new commentators Mike Doc Emrick and Eddie Olczyk. These were introduced by Blue Screen in the game, but unfortunately shown only at the beginning. You initiate the upcoming match. German commentators, there is already longer no longer with NHL, which I do not personally feel bad. In addition, the NBC-display appears and the typical music is also heard in between. Very atmospheric, but unfortunately only applied discreetly. This is also the point of bothers me. At the beginning of the game all seems still top (except for the lack of any crack running !!!), but during breaks and at the end usually is calm. Here only highlights will be shown, but nothing noteworthy. No 3-Stars honors at the end of the game (at least not yet). Inside the beautiful game no / I have previously noticed a few statistics, such as the number of goals this season by players or the current run or standings of the team. The commentators also not really on the current table stand. Only the goalkeeper statistics at the beginning of the game will appear. Since the atmosphere is at NBA2K then but better. The graphics are very good in any case. The helmets and jerseys are beautifully designed and animated. The player movements run smoothly. The goalies make spectacular saves. Stadiums and supporters are also good but not knock my socks off. Because I would have liked better stadium lighting. The ice looks very realistic and it's just very great to watch as it wears out over time. The faces of the players are clearly visible and show to every situation emotions. However, I find the faces in NBA2K beautiful and natural, even if it's a different sport. As with FIFA the faces of my opinion to act rather gimmicky or unnatural. I also miss the individuality of each player. Stars are faster and better than checking more unknown players, but by the movements manufactures all look relatively the same. Again, the comparison with NBA2K. There has virtually every player's own movements and can be seen even from a great distance, which player is currently in the square since. It would be nice if a Stamkos would show his infamous lightning sprints. Since I just wish more attention to detail. Playful I find the game not so much changed for the old parts. This is absolutely, positively meant. It runs smoothly, very dynamic, around and you feel immediately comfortable, even though not every action is realistic. The puck rolled off already time to time on the ice, which looks very good. I am currently still play pro and had to screw up the opponent's penalties, as these would otherwise probably never play shorthanded. Also, I have scaled down the setting that is so similar to ,, AI adapt to your own game. '' Maybe that's the unofficial setting ,, catch up if the user performs ''. Anyway, I think that's cheating the enemy no longer so extremely bad (for these settings). When real NHL games there is this catching up very often. However, the opponent tries the same attack over and over again. The most effective is simply the Center. Pass inwards and the center the puck clean skin. Mostly though an opponent has there. But no matter what you press, it is simply not prevented. Maybe I need to practice also. Generally the other players in the Defense act not always solid. In offensive I find it very successful. Running well clear and can be grown beautiful movement. Even the 1 to 1 against the goalie's fun and I stand the whole game under positive tension. That my Goalie has been an underground statistics and I have never had a clean sheet to finish is of course annoying and I hope that can be either adapt a few controllers or I better learn to defend. I do not know what level NHL would be located if 2K would continue in business. I also wonder if these people have dabbled for years in the field of football. But this is not so. It can be said therefore that due to lack of alternatives NHL 15 is still a good game.
The GM mode is maintained even slimmed down and offers little atmosphere. One now and then trade deals receives and has to take care of injured. Here I will run then but rather just the next game, because in the game menu comes up no desire to stay there long. The atmosphere and voltage must also be set up by then but times looking at the few statistics, or his own songs running in the background. Whether there is a draft, I do not know yet. Did not have any season ended. I hope that the playoffs even more care for atmosphere. The GM's own name is unfortunately limited to a very small number of letters. However, you never really feel to be a GM. It just lacks the personality. The GM mode is like the season mode with a few managers instruments and unfortunately restricted to a user.
CONCLUSION
Overall, this review is very negative, and the game is not perfect and by far. However, anyway, I like it a lot and a lot of fun. NHL has not very developed by lack of competition and possibly low motivation of the developer over the years. Nevertheless, it is my opinion, already due to the technical innovations, value to buy it. Each is left to itself, whether this product (understandable criticism of the other reviews) funded or not.
So who can ignore the critiques and waive certain game modes for the time being, will access. As a big hockey fan and people who have lodged with NHL have long pause, anyway.
