The device works very well with one important caveat:
It is necessarily dependent on a fully charged battery. With the power supply alone does not work. Since the hard drive does not start off.
I suspect that the power supply from the power supply not quite sufficient and that the device draws power from the battery at the same time. As long as the battery has been charged previously, running smoothly. If the battery is partly discharged, it may lead to errors. The hard drive will stop easily.
Supplement: The hard drive draws musical Specification 0.85 A. The power supply I have measured, it provides nearly 0.9 A. It is clear that if even the display and the memory card must be supplied, the current is not sufficient from the power supply is.
I have tested it with different amounts of data. 30GB successfully backed up. With 42 GB of previously fully charged battery went to his knees and the hard drive stopped.
The result was a large amount of data on the hard drive, which was nowhere associated with and therefore not allowed to delete. The space on the hard drive was gone. Just reformatting then has helped.
So always make sure that the battery is charged. If the battery is eventually broken, must be discarded either a new buy, or store.
The point deduction will be made sure that the machine can not be operated with the power adapter alone. Such a function of the battery I do not like that. What happens if the battery is defective or times when you want to back up multiple cards in succession and has no way to charge the battery for longer before?
For Support:
When I expressed my concerns, I was quickly contacted by the seller. The operation and function of the battery have been declared by email and phone in detail. There was rapid assistance offered up to the Exchange, if the device is defective. I find that exemplary.
