About the size of the device you need not to say anything and not to complain. Anyone who buys a stretch limo, must not complain that these fit into any parking space. ;) Just as it is with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. It is pocket-compatible and who nevertheless tried it, does not have to wonder about a broken screen!
The display is about 320 PPI a very high resolution and razor sharp. The maximum brightness values are fine. Unfortunately, the color transfer and contrast is not as good as Samsung or Apple. And even worse, it is the angular dependence and the blacks. The Black tends clearly towards gray and you look at the screen slightly from the side, so the loss of contrast is clear. This can better many devices.
The power of smartphones and the performance with the latest Android 4.4.4 is absolutely outstanding. Because I have nothing to criticize. Everything is fast, fluid and stable. The battery time is absolutely fine. With little use of the device by holding three days without any problems. Positive also falls on the GPS module. It really is very fast in finding the satellites and accurately in the guide. I use this as often phablet Navi and it is really ideal for this purpose.
And now for the most and here already often mentioned weakness of Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Unfortunately, the device makes often "self-employed". Ie with minimal pollution display the device responds to touch events, which do not exist. And that can go wrong for the user very quickly! So in my files have been deleted, because the device at one time "self-employed" was was opened as a file manager, or there were numbers Elected by itself when I was in the phone book. Such a thing is really annoying. The only remedy the device immediately block and clean the display with a handkerchief / cloth.
The camera of Sony Xperia Z Ultra is quite alright. Although there is no built-in flash, the pictures are good but in daylight. However, I must admit that I rarely use this feature.
Conclusion:
Sony Xperia Z Ultra is is good phablet with a mediocre display and a serious problem of "independence". Due to these facts, I will unfortunately pull the device two star. If this bug with the standalone touch events be remedied by future software updates from Sony, I will gladly supply later a star. :)
