Good stable solution with super price / performance ratio :)

I was looking for a Petrol lawn trimmer with 2-hand bike handle to mow on my land surfaces that I can not reach with the lawn mower.
Since I already have a petrol lawn mower from AL-KO had, with whom I am very satisfied, I looked again at the homepage of AL-KO order to see what the range of brushcutters hergibt so. After a bit of comparing the different versions, I opted for the "AL-KO BC 4125 II Comfort" (this is the Article 112 865 to the new "II" version, this is missing in the article of Amazon, I have over the Amazon errors already informed!).

The scythe is neatly packaged arrived with me and was quite good pre-assembled, only the "trappings" have to assemble yourself, so bike-handle + shield + string head or blade.

The handles himself and the lateral carrying protection are only made of simple plastic, but function properly. The tube of the bike handle is made of metal.
To find the correct position of the bike handle I had a little experiment (angle to the body), but believe it now to have set properly. The displacement along the spindle axis is only to a limited extent because the throttle cable does not leave much room for its length. After I adjusted and fixed grip, I had to give to the adjustment of the throttle cable again some play, otherwise the bobbin is not stopped completely idle! However, this is also mentioned in the manual. ("The throttle cable is factory set depending on the setting of the handle, it may happen that the throttle cable is easily pulled even at idle and then has to be readjusted")

While we're already in the operating instructions; this is simple, perhaps a little too easy in terms of pictures. But of course :).

Now, finally, for the first use:

- Gasoline-oil mixture in the ratio 25: 1 mix canister.
- Fill tank
Snap the throttle to full throttle -
- Max. 10x until you feel resistance from gasoline, press the pump button to pump gasoline into the carburetor (only at cold start necessary)
- Choke lever switch (only at cold start necessary)
- A few times vigorously the starter rope until the engine for the first time suggests
- IMPORTANT: choke lever back to Normal / RUN position
- Again the starter rope pull and the engine starts
Disengage throttle again -
- FINISHED >> Sense is located in the Virgin idle)

The problems start, which are reported here in another review, I can not confirm. Perhaps the brushcutter was flawed.
My jumped on properly! I know that from the STIHL sense of my father, one must necessarily back off the choke before the motor starts final.
Why this is so, I do not ..!? But is not a problem if you know it :).
The first time you run the engine has a little "stinky", but this is gone after a quarter of an hour and no longer appeared.

So, to conclude with a minor complaint:
I am professional engineer in mechanical engineering and was a bit surprised by the fact that the choke lever, the one yes to any (cold) start needed was carried out as fairly delicate plastic part. I have also uploaded an image where you can see it well. In my belly is me a little uncomfortable at the question of the durability of this "Hebelchens". Personally, I would definitely put this on metal! But that will only show the time and the duration of use, including this (still) no deductions ...

CONCLUSION:

For the price of 160 EUR, you can get anything better !!!!
The Sense fully met my expectations! She has even the possibility of using both a trimmer head and a cutter, both of which are included!
Comparable products from STIHL and HUSQVARNA cost much more and must then stop each decide for themselves ...

Supplement 08/2013:

Even after repeated use the scythe still works flawlessly! Jumps immediately runs quietly and powerfully.
Thus, the problems some other reviews I can not confirm !! One probably. really caught Monday device ....

Have also found out in the meantime that you can also open the spool magazine and refill the thread (orange / Ø2,4mm). For example. Gardena to stay in this price range, the thread can not top up and you always have to buy a completely new Gardena thread cassette!

The 2-handle is attached to the unit with a plastic clamp, unfortunately this does not achieve the required clamping force to the handle should be kept in place. Since I use the scythe in sloping terrain, I have to pull up / direction body whatsoever times. In this case, the handle has gladly adjusted times.
Now I have it solved so that I have 2 holes drilled through the plastic bracket and unilaterally through tubular handle. Then I purely cut M5 thread and screwed 2 screws. Now he keeps :) bombproof. A picture of my design I uploaded :).
