Delivery by Amazon Express (via UPS):
The delivery went by Morningstar Express quickly but the messenger came only by 13 clock (money for the Express I get back).
There were and are always problems on the part of Amazon and the parcel service provider with delivery tracking.
The package was allegedly is delivered to a neighbor of "MUNZ" although the UPS messenger was not even on site.
Neither UPS nor Amazon did not know where the package is. When the UPS messenger then rang me, he gave me the package.
I talked him out on why he had given "MUNZ" the package, but who knew nothing. Very confusing.
But now back to the Pioneer AppRadio:
First Impression:
When unpacking fall a first felt 50 against the cable you can really use at the end.
The radio makes a very high-quality impression.
When switching unfortunately comes every time a "warning to operate the unit", one can not leave.
Features:
Unlike the AppRadio 2 this generation can finally via Bluetooth transfer music.
This also works very well. I have on my iPhone 5 just music run and climb into my car, the radio automatically connects to the iPhone and play the music.
A radio function has the radio as well. The works perfectly with RDS. The reception is good.
The iPod mode is unfortunately only for Apple devices are still on the 30-pin! EXTRA! Adapter available to connect. So with an iPhone 5, this mode can not be used.
The difference between the Bluetooth and the iPod mode: Bluetooth has clear advantage with the wireless transmission, but it is not here on the radio playlists, etc. Select (So rather for the short drive)
The iPod mode, however, is already more diverse and also displays the cover art.
Now to the actual, the APP function:
As soon as you the iPhone 5 with 2 cables (HDMI, Apple Lighting cable) to the back again! Extra! erhältichen Apple Digital AV Adapter has connected, you can use the iPhone 5 in AppModus. For this you start the app "AppRadio" on the iPhone.
Now that can be customized according to your wishes, a new start-up screen (background image, layout of apps).
Unfortunately, there are not many apps in the AppStore the aktzeptieren the AppRadio as "external Touchscreeen Monitor". When opening potentially incompatible apps, only the image is simply mirrored.
If you have bought, for example, the iGo Europe Navigation App, and it will connect to the radio iGo another 30 euros solely for the support of Appradios for operation.
So turn extra.
Connection options are also available for Android (via Mirror Link, etc) but I could not test.
Conclusion:
My Pros:
+ The radio makes a high impression
+ Radio feature class
+ The interface is very simple and nicely decorated (not like in other their surface, such as Windows 95 looks)
+ The HDMI input
+ The sound quality (Even with my standard speakers - Ford Fiesta built in 2006 - the sound is clear and you can also still useable super bass heavy songs with hearing
+ Subwoofer Output: That's when Aftermarket Radio obviously mandatory but here has great Pioneer settings with high pass filer etc.
+ Reversing camera output (wers consumption)
+ Bluetooth connection works automatically and easily
+ Voice quality when making calls
My cons:
- 360 Euro first landed on the radio, then the adapter throughout the custom one (power cord adapter, Antennadapter, Apple AV cables and Lighting and and) I am now at nearly 500 euros.
- There is no cable for connecting an iPod or iPhone with the old connector included (adapter cable costs 60 euros!)
- Moderate connectivity: No SD card, a USB stick and no line-in has the radio - CD drive not. But it's a AppRadio! Still, I find it lean for the price.
- Few Apps available
- Included GPS antenna will only work with the AppRadio compatible apps
- The Pioneer's bundled app "maps" provides only the location on a map, nothing more. Pointless ?!
- Extra costs for Apps so you can use the app even on the radio
For those who are familiar with a jailbreak:
For iOS 7 jailbreak will come so soon, so you can then use the AppRadio fully. That is, by the extension "AppRadio Extensions" -> Google - can all apps, ie the complete iPhone operate on the AppRadio 1,2,3
For this reason, I also reserve the radio.
In the end, it's a certainly a good idea, but the implementation is still genuine Poor. But I trust in this technology and wait what the future holds!
PS: There is now a firmware update from Pioneer which in turn supports several new devices.
