Performers:
Also in this category, I am very excited! Sarah and the Count are ideal occupied. Vocally really wonderful.
Even the professor and Herbert are beside her grandiose spectacle, what you can hear, of course, limited, and to mention their song of praise.
Only with the occupation of the Alfred with Lukas Perman I'm not completely satisfied. Could, however, be because I'm Alfred spoiled because I so far only Michael Heller saw live, and whose footsteps are really huge! Lukas singing is hard to find fault, but bother me scenes spoken to him much since he emphasizes partially illogical.
Examples:
"You and me alone" in "Outside is freedom"
"Flee, I implore you," in "Books, Books"
But these are of course several reasons. Vocally he is close to Michael off and convinced me ultimately. Not very objective, I know ...
Quality of the recording:
On this point I can bemänglen nothing. The orchestra is strong and appropriately heard. The singer did not go under it. Especially enormous sound interaction course in the overture and "through the wilderness to the castle" .The combination with the singers and the choir's wonderful to hear in the aforementioned "red boots" sequence. Grandiose!
Criticism:
Although it is a complete recording, but missing here again some sequences that are not necessarily important, but for me personally were already at heart.
That would be:
-The repetition of musical theme with "Eternity", so the musical part, when the vampires walk out into the audience
-The spoken scene between Alfred and the Professor by "insatiable greed" is missing completely. She is really nice and also important for an understanding of the Count
-the instrumental before "ballroom" if Koukol candles provides and the stage will be rebuilt, missing ebenfalls.Das find verifiable very sad because this instrumental matches quietly beginning to the ballroom
The few criticisms of Lukas Perman and the missing scenes because, I forgive 4 of 5 stars.
CONCLUSIONS: This recording should definitely have if you have already seen the musical, because it can be found the version that you have seen even recently on German stages, including the fantastic Red Boots.
The fantastic cast speaks for itself. Marjan is one of the best and most credible Sarah ever and Thomas Borchert as Graf also very enjoyable and worth listening to.
If you do not know the musical on, surely enough, the old version and I would recommend getting once to hear this, but the more recent Viennese version is worth now times also. Decide for yourself, the main thing is it one of them!
