Thanks to the low-grade material of the hose is at least limited to the use of the oral irrigator on ca.12-18 months.
My first attempt ended after nearly 18 months with a hose rupture the irrigator. How so be it, you stick so before anything else guilty. Did you perhaps not dealt with the device carefully enough eventually pulled too much the hose or expanded?
Since BRAUN decades - also with me - has a reputation of producing high quality products, I had this negative experience with bad luck (Monday appliances are everywhere) and dismissed without further ado bought the successor.
Thus the hose is stretched as little as possible to use, I have attached the unit time as close as possible to the sink. Of course I had this drill again unsightly holes in the Badkacheln.
One suspects certainly already know what happened next:
Right, exactly after 18 months plan once again the hose and with me all patience threads.
Has BRAUN outsourced its quality assurance as to South Korea or even the same fully closed for cost reasons?
For me, it is totally unacceptable that a manufacturer with a known deficiency for years does not remedy.
Learning by doing!
I then tried it again with a spare part for 15 (Oral B Oral Irrigators handpiece with hose Sonic Complete) available at a Market Place vendors here at Amazon.
The spare part is OK so far. I am but failed installation. The plastic tube is mounted inside the unit with a solid metal clip in a plastic sleeve. Presumably there is a special tool for this closure. To me it is indeed managed carefully aufzubiegen the clamp. When reattaching but then lacked the necessary support, so that the hose slipped repeatedly, once built water pressure. Also this money was thus thrown out the window.
Although this is a the manufacturer of the oral irrigator known vulnerability, the attachment was obviously designed as possible repair unfriendly. Otherwise, a Phillips screwdriver and 10 minutes maximum would have been enough to repair.
For a skilled hobbyist but who has the right tools, this spare part is probably the solution. All others I advise!
In addition, the spare tube at least visually similar to the original, so that will not hold for too long.
Background considerations:
Since I've always found design and quality of products BRAUN convincingly have with me over the years a number of products from BRAUN accumulated (razor, hair dryer, toaster, coffee maker, blender, clock radios, travel alarm clock, etc.). Some of them I have been around for over ten years. The electric shaver z. B., for which there is fortunately anywhere to buy up today commercially replacement shaving heads and other accessories is even already 18 years old and still uncomplaining doing his service.
Apparently BRAUN but thrown its previous quality philosophy overboard and made himself an ex-hop and alignment as its own.
There may be here but also a connection with the 2005 takeover of the company BRAUN by the US group Procter & Gamble.
After all, the idea of planned obsolescence came indeed native to the land of opportunity.
At this very interesting topic can be found on the net abundant contributions and background information. A contribution of ARTE I want to interested in the topic explicitly recommended ([...]) If the link "lost" should, please googling for sale for the dump.
My Conclusion:
1. From the purchase of this oral care center I advise urgently.
2. Personally I would purchase and look around for another, more reliable brand manufacturers no other products more BRAUN.
3. This defective product receives from me the note insufficient and thus only one star.
