Optics and connectors:
The monitor knows well visually pleasing. His black piano lacquer looks elegant and adds a stitch quality appearance. However, one must keep in mind here that piano lacquer experience shows very susceptible to dirt, which is reflected in the fact that I almost dusting the stand rest and the frame each day, or have to clean.
Striking is the flat design of the monitor, which pleasantly surprised me. It thus fits well on narrower desks. On its back the E2473 HDS also has 4 holes, with which the screen can easily attach to a wall bracket, which I have not done. There are located on the front lower right corner of the frame 5 buttons that respond to gentle touch. These can be used, the screen on and off, and adjust various picture and connectivity options.
For connection, it must be said that iiyama has not saved here: Two HDMI ports, a VGA and a DVI-D port, an audio-in and a headphone jack serve a wide range of connectivity options. I run my monitor to my Sapphire 6950 currently via HDMI.
- The inner values:
Picture quality is how safe anyone can confirm this, an extremely tricky because subjective evaluation. Various test labs can this certainly better information than I do as a layman. I would therefore like to point out that the following statements only reflect my personal impressions:
The monitor convinces with bold colors and sharp tracing of objects. Documents and images are rendered to my complete satisfaction. A pivot function would have been nice, but is not common in this price range and I did not expect. I use this monitor plus games as TFT. The images are sharp and the dynamic contrast does a good job. I have from time to time feel that especially are seen in faster games like shooters light streaks, almost imperceptibly. With the appropriate software drivers of graphics card manufacturers (in my case the CCC by AMD), this problem can, however, easily fix. Some of the built-in functions such as ACR I have not yet been adequately tested to make a valid judgment about this. ACR adjusts the brightness and contrast to the prevailing circumstances in each case on the monitor, which is not very well done for my taste, because the picture is too bright. But this is only my first impression, a few test settings I need to use trial and error.
- Sound:
The built-in stereo speakers I can not comment because I do not use them.
- Accessories:
Included with the monitor are a VGA cable, a DVI cable, and of course the power cord, manuals, cable ties, and a connecting cable to the motherboard if you want to use the built-in stereo speakers. An HDMI cable must be purchased separately, you want to integrate the two HDMI ports.
- Conclusion:
All in all I am very pleased with this monitor. It convinces with a strong contrast ratio, good brightness and an adequate response time. In addition, I like the numerous connection options, as well as the adequate accessories. For the new German "casual gamer" and for each other "ordinary" PC users I would recommend this monitor clearly. Since I run no imaging or other, I can not speak for this group.
I hope I could help you with my review.
