The P7.2 is supplied just like most other lamps of LED Lenser with a high quality belt holster, a wrist strap, a set of batteries and a manual in a stylish gift box.
Rendered the P7 even 200 lm, represents the P7.2 whopping 320 lm ready (this however only with "Boost", more on that later), making it clearly visible bright. It is operated as the previous version with 4 AAA batteries. The light levels are unchanged since the P7. Gently pressing the switch and keep the brightest - Boost (130% light output). Once through press switch - Power (100% light output) and a second time off - Low Power (power-saving mode with 15% light output). In my opinion it would be better if when you turn first "Low Power" would be active and one after another time switch to "Power" can change. So must if Low Power brighter level should be chosen always first be switched on, which of course more battery capacity consumed.
Thanks to the Advanced Focus System and the SpeedFokus of LED Lenser is the P7.2 bundled high beam (Spot), floodlit (Flood) and everything in between possible. Due to the size of the lamp can be easily focused with one hand.
I especially like the very clear homogeneous photo (s. My uploaded). Anyone familiar with the "older" lamps will probably know the rings, which were shown in "Flood". These are no longer available, so you have a clean photograph.
The P7.2 has also received a small facelift. If you look forward into the reflector lens, a red background can be seen. The lamp head is adorned with a crown of holes, now by the red shimmers. When the lamp is lit by a light red Löchter seen. In addition, the ON / OFF switch has also got some color at the end of the lamp. Now it is decorated with a red dot, surrounded by a red circle - the LED Lenser Logo. These design changes I find it very successful.
The lamp will - as usual - a high quality and robust impression and is great in the hand.
It should be noted that the lamp the promised 320 lm and the maximum range of up to 260 m, however, only with "Boost" does (light touch and hold the switch). Here in a nutshell the light modes and their performance:
Boost: 320 lm, burn time: 2 hours, Light range. 260 m
Power: 250 lm, burn time: 4 hrs, Light range. 220 m
Low: 40 lm, burn time: 50 hours, Light range. 100 m
The Leuchtaduer in each mode is understood up to a luminous flux of 1 lm, which glow only a slight of the LED means likely. This means that you do not over 4 hours was 250 lm, but the lamp is in accordance with the declining battery capacity naturally weaker. If prolonged use planned, it is recommended that enough to pack extra batteries and in the event that it goes through a poorly or not illuminated area, another small key chain lamp o. Ä. Bring your own. Should a battery replacement be necessary and but it is just the middle of the pitch-dark forest, that would be a very fiddly matter until all four batteries there are, where they belong and concerns with the correct poles. Since the P7.2 runs with normal AAA batteries, these are fortunately easy to get everywhere.
Nevertheless, the P7.2 in power "only" 250 lm and 50 lm thus only gives more than its predecessor (P7 max. 200 lm), it is still clearly visible bright. It has been compared to P7 definitely an increased output of light and even with "Power" a greater beam range than they did in the old P7 (P7 - max 210 m, P7.2 in the power mode 220 m.).
Conclusion:
All in all, I like the new P7.2 very good. She got a little more color and has clearly put on light output. For this purpose it is handy and therefore takes place in virtually any pocket or jacket pocket. Only the existing in the T-series bulbs as the T7.2 ability to lock the lamp head, so that the focus can not change I miss. Otherwise you get here is a high-quality lamp with best LED technology and a focus system and three brightness levels. There is a strong buy recommendation.
