Unfortunately, I have in the bedroom the vexing problem that a sender evening sounds good, morning, unfortunately is very noisy.
Internet Radio was an idea, but somehow it is not 100% reliable. If times the Internet connection, specify the buzzer or worse comes to: Nothing.
After a long search, I have now these deliberately selected with DAB. My idea was that DAB will certainly ensure that virtually noise and the reception is good, because the digital signal to interference is rather robust.
I must say that has succeeded. The tuner will take place at the 20 stations in the DAB band and all of them in good quality, with no dropouts.
What I really liked:
- The setting of the alarm time is foolproof and quickly via rotary dials on the front. It also does not require contortions with 4 fingers or something.
- The time can be adjusted, but that is also updated automatically. I suspect this is achieved via the DAB signal.
- Even an ordinary FM, the alarm clock, but I have not tried. The reception is then not even be better than others.
- Use the button above right to turn on the alarm on and off. Total simple and thanks to the great bell in the display in the evening to do is look to see if I am awakened.
- The killer feature for me is the Auto-dimming display. This little thing is really good. At night, the display is readable, but not illuminated the room and half the morning it shines so bright that it also arrives from the sun.
- The design is appealing.
- The manual must not be next to the bed. -> You need it not easy.
Not so good:
- The alarm volume is set in the menu somewhere. Just like the TV channels. That I would want something simple.
- Also setting the weekdays on which you want to be woken up, is hidden somewhere in the menu.
- I expect so no special treat As for the sound, but a little bit better sound would be desirable.
The update:
The unit has been in standby after purchase a faint noise of itself. At Philips, on the homepage, there is a software update (yes, for this alarm there are updates, I was also schokiert) that fixes this problem. Simply connect the alarm via USB (mini-USB cable is not included, but that has worked well from the mobile phone) and play the update. After that was absolute silence.
The biggest drawback is probably that my wife now wants a just. The device is not exactly the most favorable and therefore I have to buy another one.
My Conclusion:
Radio alarm clock, the last devices were previously in the house, with the ease of video Reck orders from the 90s. That has now changed.
