The DreamWorks logo appears and it starts with "Dragon Racing", a mixture of the issues that are already known from the first film - but with more instruments and additional melodies. It thus takes no second until you return to the "feeling" from the first film has (and I'm not even so the DreamWorks logo without a little tear over. Bravo).
In the second title, "Together We Map The World", one of the main themes of the new soundtrack is very emotional introduced that will be taken up again and again in other songs in various ways and realized. Here my favorite is definitely "Flying With Mother", a song which is a must in an epic fantasy film in no way with its many instruments and the choir.
To discuss it further, only on a few more songs on the soundtrack:
With "For the Dancing and The Dreaming" there are on this soundtrack even a song that is sung while the characters in the film, but to leave without effect the whole musical-like a la Disney. Gerard Butler and Mary Jane Wells vocally fit together very well and even Craig Ferguson is doing its part to the song in) The melody was actually a collaboration of John Powell and Jónsi and the text was written by The Pogues singer Shane MacGowan.
What was the first part of "Romantic Flight", is here as an emotional highlight "Stoick's Ship". I find it very suitable for the scene in which it is played and also here is short the melody of "For the Dancing and The Dreaming" to hear (what broke me a little heart), and at the end of the main theme from the first film.
As a longtime fan of Sigur Rós and Alexander Rybak I do not need to mention that its title in my opinion, are a successful contribution to the soundtrack. With the combination of John Powell and Jónsi in "Where No One Goes" so is a small musical dream of mine come true;)
The combination of new and old, I find incredibly well done, it's not too much new but not too much old case. Of course, he unfolds only in combination with the film its proper effect, but I hear it in my free time very much.
For this reason: a strong buy recommendation from me!
