What I got with the ASUS GeForce GTX 970 OC 4096MB STRIX GDDR5?
The Asus GTX 970 delivers Strix in 2D mode a quiet 4K image. In games it jerky regularly at the highest resolution and it is certainly not at my computer with high-end CPU and a fast Samsung SSD Pro (and otherwise only brand hardware). As you can read in many places that's even with newer cards often the case. I use only brand hardware and have not the problem. Battlefield IV, COD AW and titanium case run clean in lower resolution. Many have the Spulenfiepen probably only because of the power supply. I have because of the prevailing panic specially ordered from Amazon to possibly convert easily can. A buzzing noise would have been for me a reason for return.

My one year old ASUS Radeon HD 7870 was in 2D mode about 10 dB louder than the GTX 970. I have also installed a silent case and only Silent components. In 3D mode, you can hear the card definitely, but anyway it is still ok for me. After the match, the map comes after about 5 minutes back completely to rest. So after a coffee break you can again quietly working in 2D mode. I find it very good that the fan shuts off completely. The arguments of other manufacturers of the GTX 970 is still very weak. For example, they do not stop the fan for temperature reasons. So the future is quiet and energy efficient.

I have uninstalled the old drivers and download the latest driver in advance. The installation went smoothly.
