Now I have the Ixus 500 HS for currently about 300 euros and the 125 HS for
currently appointed around 200 euros. Both cameras were identical on the image quality.
Since the Ixus 125 HS has a better wide angle, modern looks and is more favorable,
I decided for this.
The images from both cameras are not yet 100% at the sharpness of my old Ixus 85
approach, however, one can see the difference only in direct comparison and the difference
is really minimal.
In the following points, the Ixus 125 HS was able to convince me
+ Good pictures
+ Super narrow and included in our balance. Battery and memory card only 134g
+ Large, sharp display
+ Still sharp photos in the dark
+ Easy to use
+ Very large Wide
+ Zoomed images are very sharp
+ With the flash in a dark room were very natural
+ No red eyes in photos with flash

What has struck me negatively on the Ixus 125 HS:

400 pictures, mostly without flash you create on a single charge. That's quite OK, but not very.

Comparison between 3 cameras with my next test judgment of 29.11.2012:
1. Canon Ixus 125 HS (16 megapixels), Grade 2
2. Nikon Coolpix S6300 digital camera (16 megapixels), grade 2.5
3. Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ1EG digital camera (16 megapixels), grade 4.5
Now my parents I wanted to buy a digital camera.
I ordered the Nikon Coolpix S3600 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ1EG.
First test: pictures in automatic mode inside in dark situations, all photos with flash
1st and 2nd place: Canon and Nikon, all pictures useful, pretty much identical good pictures
3rd place: Panasonic Lumix: The pictures were grainy, compared to the other pictures significantly worse
Second Test: pictures in the automatic mode when it is dark outside, Motif: lanterns and illuminated window
1st and 2nd place: Canon and Nikon, all pictures useful, pretty much identical good pictures
3rd place: Panasonic Lumix: The pictures were simply much worse, blurry, too dark
Third Test: Images in daylight
Here offer all 3 cameras in roughly equal good pictures
3rd place went clearly to the 3 tests on the Panasonic. My Verdict: 4
Why me now the Canon like better than the Nikon?
Nikon advantage: it has because of the greater thickness of the camera for a better zoom range.
Canon advantage: you looks better, has a much larger screen, is much shallower and the wide-angle
is even better.
Anyone looking for a super zoom, which should resort to Nikon.
Those looking for a slightly flacherere camera with more wide-angle and with a very large and clear display,
should resort to Canon.
