Positive ++
- Good combination of PowerLan with wireless technology (optional device provides a wireless router, just switched off)
- Looks neat, less bulky than other devices
- It is lost no outlet connection
- You have next to the Wi-Fi in addition 3 RJ45 connectors
- Installation works immediately, ie plugging, wiring and input password will take about 3 min. and then does the network
Negative -
- No manual and no installation CD case, only a short introduction with some sketches poorest; also had only one network cable here (device was in the film their original packaging)
- The absolute main drawback: unfortunately far too slow. I only came to a maximum value of about 30 Mbit / s, which is less than 1/16 of the manufacturer's specification of 500Mbit / s.
And this 'snail's pace' I reached the best value only after much tasting in a Gigabit LAN! Mostly I had only 15-20 Mbit / s. Of course I knew the 500 Mbit / s is a theoretical speed. The current speed of 30 Mbit / s but I have achieved even with my great-old 85 MBit / s PowerLan from another manufacturer. My existing WLAN is significantly faster. I have the whole with me to different wall outlets with a total of 8 different wiring tried (no multiple sockets etc.), without sufficient success. The 'sender' Devolo Powerlan adapter was connected directly to the Gigabit switch. The optimization feature of the dLAN Cockpit software did not help.
The insufficient speed is crucial and unacceptable, therefore only one star rating, zero stars seemed almost fitting due to my experience. I can not judge whether it is up to the electrics in my (almost new) home or on the device. But I do not want to invest any more time, so the unit goes back to the dealer (not purchased from Amazon).
