It replaces a r7000 WNDR3700 though it was very powerful. That said, it is still valuable new better at every level. - Asked speed it smells performance with dual 1 ghz heart: the router is ready for ignition 2 times faster than my old 3700. I have the impression that too when my network saturation due frieze has many simultaneous connections (4 smartphones, 2 printers, 2 nas, 3 pc fixed, 2 laptops, 2 shelves, tv, bluray, PS3, Wii, multimedia player): here the R7000 is positively the difference: it manages all without the we perceive any slowdown. - Asked wired connections: gigabit already being previously difficult to see a noticeable difference. - Asked wifi connections: I have tested to date that WiFi n 2,4ghz and 150Mbps. Little difference to 2 or 3 meters but against 15 meters with 2 separation walls: here the r7000 maintains a high data flow (I stay at over 50MB / s when my 3700 dropped to 20MB / s). Amazing. Another very positive point, the router reboots quickly lost wifi (when moving away too). My 3700 was struggling to resynchronize when communication was broken. The R7000 reconnects automatically and instantaneously as soon as possible. - Asked installation: just connect your cables, and turn on the first PC connected receives a popup screen that offers the configuration: this surprising automation. Everything was already well configured (modem recognized and connected). I just brought 2, 3 mod my own network.
For the rest, a very well finished product that I find very pretty. The many LED (12!) Are perhaps a little too bright in the dark. Personally, I find that very pro: a glance all the LED give full information about your network. Now I think only comes after two days of operation. To see the long term but it begins very well!
