FOR QUICK READER (TL; DR):
Amazing output with an extremely low heating
Loading through proper USB "charger coding" very quickly
During the day difficult to identify control LED
Disassembled: clean design - all ports are fed by a supply.
For this review there is an illustrated blog post (search for "zero brain Aukey") - but I am happy anyway if you rate this product from Amazon with helpful. Even though I have a free sample sawed, so a lot of work in such a review.
Unboxing, look, feel
I liked the cardboard box from the one the little device engegenfällt. Nicely done. The piano finish crying out for dirt. The contact springs of the 12V connection appear solid (what will come true later when sawing).
Electrical measurements
[- Early - only for geeks]
First had the charger a short circuit test to go through, he survived to become hot 15 minutes without defect and without. A check with the oscilloscope showed that the internally built switching regulator has changed in the pulsed operation and thus protects against overloading. As the first real test my battery pack was loaded from anchors. This draws on a standard USB cable (more on that later) about 1 A charging current. It goes on: I burden a USB port in addition to a number of 12V halogen lamps (which have a reasonably matching resistor) and the current increases to good at 2:58 4,90V.
Side note: a standard USB cable would already emphasize here because of its resistance to sail, so I have the USB ports "free-floating" hung with 1.5mm ^ 2 wire installation at my expense).
At 12V input were 12,9V / 1,52A which corresponds to an efficiency of the converter of about 90% (some power is likely to be lost in the wiring).
Or, conversely, the adapter verbrät just about 1W in heat (at 17,6W output).
I still have one! Since a high load resistance is around. The current rises up to 3,66A .. The full power I could not squeeze some adapters. I do not trust it to the construction 4 x 2.4A deliver. Unless the power loss scaled waste heat should then not be a problem.
[- End - only for geeks]
IMPORTANT: "At home it loads much faster,"
Solution: use a USB cable that is specifically designed for charging. But it can not be used as a data cable. Positives: the Aukey works with many "normal" USB cables already in the "high-current mode"!
Good to know ....:
The USB Port (2.0) was only to specified 0.5A (a consumer can always draw 100mA, after he has logged on to the host 500 mA). Any device may no longer be found. To use chargers with higher power output, however, is signaled via the data lines not used the mode "Take everything that is there - I'm a Charger" via a resistor
Special "Charging Cable" signal itself (jumper in connector) these high-current mode. These cables One should highlight, however, as they can not be used as a data cable (colored cable ties around it). I use: EasyAcc 5 stk. Micro USB 2.0 fast charging cable, USB 2.0 Type A (male) [Only suitable to store any data transfers possible] on Micro Type B cable, USB to Micro USB Cable, 40 cm long
TEARDOWN - TOTAL FOR CUTTING
One recognizes the solid structure. The contacts for 12V connection ends directly on the board of the voltage regulator. A spring holds the center contact. Schön: the capacitors used (capacitors) are rated for 105 ° C (which they should in the mobile space as well). A converter, which is connected by solid lines to the USB ports, providing them all.
