Whether one takes a coffee machine or in my opinion a fully automatic espresso machines do not care - maybe the capacity of the brewing chamber, drip tray and coffee grounds container are slightly smaller, but otherwise I know no difference. But I let myself also like to disabuse. We drink coffee and 90% are very satisfied with an espresso machine, so funny as it sounds, really!
The Coffee:
The Rowenta 'ES 6930' makes in my opinion a good coffee, nice and hot when you want it (in 3 steps in the basic settings adjustable), with a full-bodied coffee flavor and a slight 'crema'. Frankly, to me, the foam layer is on the coffee or espresso not so important, but this statement is now time also.
The 'crema' to keep my opinion quite long even if the layer is not very thick. When Espresso revealed the 'sugar test' that a small spoonful of sugar had disappeared after about 2-3 seconds of the 'Crema' layer.
We are passionate coffee drinkers and have a normal filter coffee machine (Severin 'Café Caprice' similar to Philips 'Café Gourmet') prepared on French press coffee (even fresh hand-ground coffee and then in the Fench-Press), this espresso machine from Rowenta found. Acquaintances, Siemens, Jura, AEG and DeLonghi coffee machines find and compared because I can just say that it depends on taste in the first place on the coffee used.
Incidentally, we prefer coffee from the coffee roasting 'roasting Art' in Bochum. Unparalleled diversity / variety in the range and quality!
Important in the coffee / espresso machines then of course the usability, water tank, settings to your own preferences. Because I've found so far is not much about this automatic espresso machines, I write here are some more things down:

Operation:
Very easy and self-explanatory on screen and wheel / Stellradtaste below the display (menu items follow in my description the same). The only thing noticed is if you want to draw 2 coffees or a 'big' coffee you have to 2x pressing the 'ok key', but within a reasonably short period of time (about 1-1.5 sec.) otherwise because if you're too slow, the coffee will be canceled. Cancel Coffee is then to be understood that the coffee is ground, a little water is drawn and ground coffee goes in the coffee grounds container and the little water in the drip tray. It takes time and coffee - but is not that bad. Is us about happened at 579 coffees 5 times - so not so bad.
For steam (foaming) and hot water 2 extra keys are available.
The coffee outlets are adjustable in height (6-10cm). But I can also a 12.5cm tall cup underneath places this but also 'only' make then about 2/3 full, I have to run under the outlets out the cup angle.
The espresso machine creates a Kaffeemahlzyklus and one pass 160ml coffee ('small' coffee cup) or Espresso 70 ml (normal espresso cup). If you want to have more you just have to 2 times within 1-1.5 sec., Press the Select / OK button. Then the machine makes 2 runs automatically in succession. One sees this in the display how full the cup is (visualization of a cup, which is fully automatic with 2 runs is the visualized cup after the first run half full).
The amount of water for coffee after product selection still set using the setting wheel - for example, from 80 ml - 160 ml in a coffee cup. This tastes a coffee with 80 ml of course something more than a coffee with 160ml, but that's at the other too.
Incidentally, if the coffee output the water in the tank is running out, would like machine have new water and then waits until the filling of the water tank confirmed. Once you have done that asks a machine whether you want to continue de coffee cycle. I felt the beginning of course, but the Siemens machine from our acquaintance does not. The pumps the tank empty and then makes only one light on - not continue the coffee or something.
The frothing milk - partly also a very important issue.
The steam cycle is limited to 60 sec. Max and time is running out on the display. But the cycle can be stopped even before that - says one also the display. The steam outlet is a bit short and the compact dimensions of the machine because also quite 'compact'. But I have hinbekommen beautiful milk foam and it's not even so that you must be sure a 'rounder'. Of course you have a little taste, but after the 2-3 cup that works even if you have never done before. I and others were very satisfied with the latte.
When times fits the cup not entirely under the steam outlet, then you take up the water receptacle out and you have more space - the machine does not realize that.

Display menu:

In the maintenance, you can activate the flushing, where you will be asked each time the espresso machines if you want to make a rinsing cycle or not.
Furthermore, you can activate an extra cleaning in the maintenance menu and cause a water filter replacement, whom you have an installed (this is extra accessories and we do not use)
The cleaning of the machine does not need to be specially initiated because the machine unnoticed among themselves every coffee and counts down from a count of about 20 coffee cups (in alternately displaying display [wallpaper <-> Countdown Timer])
In the menu Settings you can see the basic settings (language, contrast, date, time, auto-off [a kind of Sleep Timer], Auto-on [for time in the morning ideal], units, water hardness [this is descaling depends - test strips is to test for ] coffee temperature)
The menu item Product Info displays the internal count of the espresso machines. Ie coffee cycles (with us currently 579), hot water cycles (we currently 9), steam cycles (with us currently 41), flushing (we currently 247), Cleaning - next and last, descaling - next and last. We have the ES6930 need to clean before and were surprised at how foolproof the Rowenta ES6930 here is - every step is specified over the display! No manual needed!
The menu item Demo mode, you can enable or disable - if enabled, the display shows the stand-by may be an advertisement for, menu items, etc.
Other:
The hotplate for cups is not quite as successful, the cups are only from the rising steam when a coffee is drawn warm. In my opinion, not a coffee cup warmer.
Here summarized the strengths and weaknesses of the 'Magnifica' in my experience:

Update January 2014:
The Rowenta ES 6930 is still running very reliably and without any problems. I've built about 6 months ago by the machine apart - just about the fully automatic times to clean. Man finally hears from other people who have a coffee machine that the brewing must be cleaned, as these moldy otherwise. In the ES 6930 is not readily possible, but by the thermal block and the construction of the machine also anscheinen not necessary. Because when I had the engine apart, I saw nothing but dry ground coffee. More ..... not of course the hoses are the coffee cause little brown, but that is now not tragic. We flush the machine before every way, always switch the machine off (it does not automatically but only asks for flush when switching on the machine). Maybe it's the flushing that after 3 years there is no mold or slime or other unappetizing be seen.
As I said, the machine've built only out of curiosity and for supposed cleaning apart (not because they did not work or something).
We would buy the machine at any time !!!!!! Today I would give her even 5 stars.
For coffee, I was contacted more frequently in the comments. Since I can only say - who want to drink and great aromatic non-industrial roasted coffee, should be the Bochum coffee roasting type issued (there you can also buy coffee) and there relate his coffee. Is slightly more expensive than the normal coffee from the supermarket but with this by no means compare !!! One can also refer to coffee Online ... for all who can not come to Bochum.
