Some negative review on here I can not understand. Perhaps there are similar but worse predecessors. On the other hand, some positive reviews are not very meaningful.
I'll try to provide more clarity with a little objectivity.
In a small local dealer I bought the device after a short consultation rather spontaneously for the family (2 daughters with long hair and little styling ambitions).
Braun Satin Hair 3 HD 330 MN, TYPE 3540 and Made in China is on the packaging. Luftstromrichtdüse and diffusor are included. On the front of the package, a woman's head with a shorter, curly hair is displayed.
To understand the functioning of the device, I have the power purchase measured times in the various settings.
The peak power is specified with 1,700 watts. This is achieved only very briefly when switching from zero to the highest level 3. The following values are rounded and may vary slightly.
Level 1 = 500 watts
Level 2 = 1000 watts
Level 3 = 1500 watts
These values represent the consumption totals of fan and heating.
While holding the cold air button, the heating is largely shut down.
(The air is only slightly heated, what I find pleasant.)
So it turns out approximately to the consumption of the fan motor.
Level 1 = 200 watts
Level 2 and 3 = 400 Watt
In stage 3 over level 2 so only the heat output is increased. The fan remains the same. At Level 2, you can direct the hair dryer for a long time to a point before it is unpleasant. Here apparently very gentle on your hair (and energy efficient) is more dried with fans than with heat. The air flow is actually heated very uniformly from the hair dryer.
Of course, you are more flexible with independent control of fan and heating. Who wants to have it hot with little fan or even more power required, should choose a different device. For us, the settings are very practical and very usable solved with the diffuser attachment. The performance is sufficient.
The diffuser like it overall very good. After plugging it is firmly engaged with a slight twist. However, to comb through it is hardly suitable, because the bosses are too thick. These serve for as air ducts and promote air drying effect.
At the top of the studs unfortunately were harsh production edges that could be removed with a fine, small file well. From a brand device I would have expected that such a thing is done in the production process. In addition to cheap looking, something hakeligen main switch but it was already negative criticism.
The hair is fine-balanced, so to keep up with its about 500 grams for the 8-year-old daughter still good. The diffuser attachment makes the way again 150 grams of.
Criticism of the plastic material, I can not understand. The case seems to me solid and stable without disturbing edges. From cheap Gummierungen I do not think much, because these often evaporate (softeners hazardous to health) and become greasy after a while. A slightly unpleasant odor electronics came only at first use for a few minutes out of the machine.
The included instructions you really can only praise. Short, well illustrated, clearly understandable, and finally there is time in black and white, that the power cord is not wrapped around the device. A cable break-promoting bad habit of many contemporaries.
For us, therefore, a thoroughly successful, not just cheap branded product with small drawbacks. If I already knew that the hair back at least 10 years work for our use, I would give 5 stars, despite the small shortcomings.
