The menu is also clearly designed and sometimes held something colorful. At Panasonic, unfortunately this seems all very gray and dreary. Some symbols, however, are a bit small for the Sony. I can imagine that some people here will have some problems.
The picture quality is outdoors and in daylight really good. Compared to the Panasonic then v727 partly but something inferior in sharpness and noise. In LowLight area one must not expect too much in this price range, too.
Autofocus has also even it out a bit located in the illuminated areas to Abendstunde next and the video was once briefly blurred.
Those who want more image quality, has to invest a little more money and resort to the upper price range but then.
The sound quality is fine. The microphone is positioned just below the lens, however, and thus within range of the image stabilizer. This can be partly but then in very peaceful surroundings on the videos make (interior shots without any noise). Since this is generally rather not occur, can neglect this.
The image stabilizer is really class. From the hand really succeed very smooth images. Especially the wide angle end can still go in a walk take a shake-free video. The image stabilizer can be changed via the menu of active to Standard or Off. Here I noticed that the engine "off" are still active even when the setting. You hear then already as mentioned clearly. Just when you would pick something closer to the camcorder. In the house or in very quiet surroundings are then in tripod use but now and make out the sounds on the video.
For image control, there are a few minor adjustments (eg the Cinema mode) but as already known at Sony, can not be manually really affect anything themselves. I think for most would be superfluous but this anyway.
I'm missing one switch with which the image stabilizer lets off directly (for tripod inserts). This triggers Panasonic significantly better. When Sony you have to then but through some menus shimmy to disable this. In automatic mode, the camcorder appears after some time to recognize the tripod (tripod symbol on the display). But I'm not sure if the Image Stabilizer is really disabled, or simply change only active in Standard.
Access to the memory card slot is located on the inside. Accordingly it is necessary to always open the display. If you have activated in the settings that enable the camcorder when you open the display, the camcorder is switched every time the memory card exchange directly. If you disable this, you have the camcorder then correspondingly Always on the switch.
Behind an additional flap are then also the headphone output and microphone input. I find this a bit stupid solved because the door must remain open in accordance with using an external microphone and / or headphones. While the flap ends before the LCD, but something does disturb it already.
The GPS is gimmick for me. The sense of me I do not really see.
The accessory shoe is hidden at the top by a further flap. The flap can be after opening still bring in a horizontal position so as not to desist upwards. The accessory shoe is also slightly sunk. Whether here really can attach any accessories without fumbling I can not say.
Let's see how long this flap keeps well. I find this after opening but a bit shaky and I can imagine that this could break fast times but in a careless moment.
Who can do without the full manual control and live with the few criticisms, obtained with the Sony camcorder class device with a super image stabilizer. Just for the next holiday and family videos with the young.
