The lens is stained inside. Of course impossible to clean. I sent the unit and received new replacement ... same problem: the optics contains a visible spot. I contacted Zeiss to submit the problem, after all they sign this light. I had someone who answered quickly and courteously, but it is not their responsibility ... Sony manufactures ... No luck, no doubt, a bad run, but very disappointing from Sony is a brand that I like especially from Zeiss which for me had a reputation for excellence. When you put your name on a product should be responsible it seems. The name of Zeiss was a reason for my choice ... apparently a mistake. I reference the second device and request a refund. One positive point returns work perfectly at Amazon.
