Preface:
This review is in direct comparison to the Acer G246HLBbid because I nearly 1 this year and had exactly could take a closer look.
Moreover, I would say the BenQ GL2450HM Monitor is the competitor to Acer G246HLBbid, both priced, technically, as well as the range of functions.
I had the Acer because Spulenfiepen that occurred when turn down the brightness, need to return for a second time and wanted to test also desswegen another monitor to compare. Therefore, I decided without much search for the BenQ GL2450, whom I had in mind before buying the Acer.
The BenQ makes no noise.

Scope of supply:
- The Screen
- Power cord EU
- Power cord US
- Stand (2 parts - plate and joint)
- VGA cable
- Guide with Driver CD - drivers are installed by Windows without CD via Windows Updates (This I've had in any other screen.)

General:
The BenQ came securely packaged in a "monitor typical" box with all the trimmings. Quick unpacked and plugged the stand screws. (The foot consists of the base plate and the, I call him, "neck", which are also just plugged together).
Despite the simple structure, the monitor bomb thing is and also does not look as though he may fall over.
In previous reviews is that it must be connected via VGA cable to convert to HDMI. However, I had to just press on AUTO or ENTER and it has automatically switched to the HDMI input.
So as expected, the picture was not quite as crisp and light gray as the graphics card as standard digital color format leaves on RGB. Once it has been set to YCbCr444, everything was perfect!
I had nothing more to adjust to the graphics drivers (NVIDIA Control Panel or ATI Catalyst Control Center).
The BenQ GL2450HM has a very clean, uniformly illumined, colorful and sharp picture. (This applies to DVI and HDMI. VGA I have not been tested.) It is very liquid and not a bit jerky.
Once AMA has been activated, the light streaks disappear. Schlieren (more or less) come in as good as all monitors when something bright is moved on a dark background. AMA (Advanced Motion Acceleration) ensures that the reaction time is increased and the color change of the pixels is done faster. (The specified 1ms is only gray-to-gray)
Any halos are on my screen does not exist, any more than a gleam through the LEDs of the backlight.

Differences for Acer G246HLBbid:
The monitor from BenQ ...
- ... Is higher than my old Acer because of its stand about 3-5cm
- ... Has slightly wider screen edges (about 1cm)
+ ... Has something more saturated colors in color format YCbCr444
+ ... Has better black levels
+ ... Has a slightly better viewing angle
+ ... Represents the image in the default setting is sharper.
+ ... Has a much better menu - clear
+ ... Is much brighter at 100%
+ ... Has ports that are facing down so that they are not heavily loaded.
+ ... Has speakers
+ ... Has a sound input (jack - LineIN)
++ ... Has an integrated power supply!
ooo ... no Störgräusche of how buzzing, humming, or the like, when the brightness is reduced. (This should usually be also so, but the practice has taught me otherwise.)
ooo ... is thicker towards the rear.
+ AMA (Advanced Motion Acceleration) can be manually switched ON or OFF - This is the Overdrive function in monitors to reduce the response time
Neutral:
o The monitor keys sit, easy to reach, on the right side

I would like to have it getting better and fine-tuning assume here out my configuration:
Image - settings:
- Brightness: 65 (Standard 100)
- Contrast: 55 (Standard 50)
- Sharpness: 2 (default 1) - On 1 he has been, said to me, sharper picture than the Acer. At 2 everything is just as it should be defined without creating edges with a white border (exaggerated sharpness effect).
- Gamma: 5 (standard 3)
- AMA: ON (default off) - Reduces streaking very effective
Capture Advanced - settings:
- Picture Mode: Standard - (is fully sufficient)
Audio - settings:
Adjust to taste the speaker volume when the sound via HDMI or DVI to be played on the monitor.
System - Settings:
- Aut. HDMI .Wechs ON (default OFF) - When HDMI is connected, it will switch to that input
All settings are not standing here at the default value. :)

CONCLUSION BENQ GL2450HM:
I built the BenQ GL2450 in parallel with the Acer G246HLBbid and different games and benchmarks can simultaneously view it (among others Battlefield 4, Crysis 1, Minecraft, Unigine Valley, Unigine Heaven)
(To approach without elaborating or stupid to examine the images) At first glance, not much, and the uniformity of exposure, I noticed in the colors anything, only that the BenQ is the image slightly sharper and run Bewgungen gentle.
After some time, I have also noticed that the BenQ Black is much better than the Acer and that especially green seems a bit rich. Now, after a few weeks I also feel that it is more pleasant to look at life in the Bilschirm because the Senseye 3 technology but more by the gentle image structure causes than expected.
All in one, I'd say the BenQ is the better screen, because it has, among other things this strong color space problem with RGB NOT. At least the picture is not covered by a gray haze.
Among them is to note that the image on DVI and HDMI are equally good.
The OSD menu is in the BenQ worlds better than the Acer and also causes a lot more. The regulators (especially for the sharpness) change the image clearer.
Otherwise, the BenQ is very stable and is thicker than the Acer.
Priced they differ have been whittled away and thus can recommend the BenQ unlimited! (Even though the BenQ always been and still is the cheaper monitor.)

I hope I could help you with this, and I wish a lot of fun with the device)
