Super Smash Bros .: Brawl (Video Game)

Customer Review

Long, long one was allowed on these must-have title for the Nintendo Wii wait. Now there is finally also SSBB in Europe. Whether the expectations were too high, which means or if the game really gets it right?

Graphics:
The graph was also the predecessor very grand. But Nintendo goes one better; Brawl is a feast for the eyes. It now falls to the bright colors that draw an instantly in the mood of the respective area. The mood in the Stages in itself may change during the run of play also: Is it the beginning of gloomy and dark, it can act bright and cheer at the end. Also it is noticeable that Nintendo has designed the characters in great detail, so you can for example acknowledge the pants by Mario finer patterns. The various Smashes were graphically also bolstered considerably, especially the so-called "Ultra Smashes", which is usually the strongest attack of a character. Again, the game deserves a big plus. Nintendo has learned to regard bump maps, textures and anti-Alising. Everything looks very good, so one can imagine being in a really nice next-gen game. Bravo! So be heck.

Sound:
The sound is, as usual for a Super Smash Bros. game, just great. Many well-known songs in new splendor, and partly also new interpretations of these. There are a lot (!) Pieces of music to choose from, most you have to but earn only. The full voting hymns let the player really immerse yourself in the world of SSBB. Again, very well done. One thing I must complain however: It was at the beginning to get used to as the commentator began to Coundown etc. to count what you then get used to but after the fact in German. The sounds also agree to the Settings and can inspire more.

Control:
As in Mario Kart Wii, Nintendo lets its players great freedom when it comes to control, because there are up to 4 different types of control possible, as are:
1. Hold the Wii Remote cross, as would, for example, play NES games.
2. Wii Remote + Nunchuck
3. Classic Controller
4. GameCube controller
The really wide range of control options is the fact that the keyboard layout can be set individually. Thus, each player can create his own personal style in order to keep the best possible control over his character. I personally use Wii Remote + Nunchuck. Everything is really matched perfectly, so that you have nothing but really nothing to complain about in the control except the adaptation period.

Gameplay:
Nothing has changed on the familiar gameplay: Mario and his friends kloppen like crazy. It is also interesting that in Brawl 35 (!) Characters are for playing and beating available, including guest appearances by Sega and Konami. One can namely Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid earn what also ensures fun. Another new feature is the "Smash Ball". This appears several times at random in Stage and gives the character destroys the ability his "Super Smash" work it out, which is different from character to character. Here When it comes to game modes can turn the game into two main sections parts: solo play and multiplayer game. First of all, the solo play; As would be the Classic mode, the Subspace Emmisär, the missions and the sandbag hitting. The only well-known Classic mode has not changed playfully: Man beats by the opponents, masters (or not) the target shooting and finally finished it, now translated into German, expert hand. Nevertheless, a lot of fun as we are accustomed to him. The new Subspace Emmisär is sort of story mode in the game. You start by supplying Mario and Kirby in a tournament a friendly fight. It is, however, suddenly attacked by strange creatures that same blow up the entire arena in the air afterwards. So you hit further and further through the story and learns to know the different characters. Each of them is fighting for another reason against "evil". More I do not want to tell more about the story. There are between levels often appear cutscenes that drive the plot of the story. Unfortunately, the characters communicate only through gestures and facial expressions, so do not say anything. It is also noteworthy that allows the story mode for two games, thus increasing the fun factor. In Mission mode, there are always some emissions to most and perfect. Nothing special but very accommodating for playing in between. The sandbag hitting it comes (as the name suggests) a sandbag as far as possible wegzubomben. Here you can again work with a buddy as a team to achieve a better result. This mode also has an exciting competition.
Now we come to the multiplayer mode. The rule is: multiplayer, more fun!
There first of all the simple Brawl. Up to 4 players fight here on time to coins or simply to survive. One can freely play advanced rules for the brawl during the game. Next, there is the Special Brawl. This can be, in part, set very crazy rules, like an endurance Giant Slow Motion Brawl. Again, the player's imagination knows no boundaries; It is possible to create the craziest combination. If there should be times more than 4 players, the tournament or changing mode provides a remedy. One can thus play with up to 32 friends! Added to this is the online mode, which unfortunately is a little on the "laggy". You can also organize here a team battle or the normal Smash mode. Delivery of Mario Kart multiplayer still good here Nintendo seems to have had problems. Too bad that it keeps almost in a non-playable frame. Total is therefore said: As a fan of fighting games has you through the many different modes of motivation and even local vending, but as a normal video player has one except the story and multiplayer mode nichs what one could captivate watching TV for longer. So here the only 2 weak points of the actually otherwise perfect game.
---> 4/5

Conclusion:
Brawl is a game for young and old, casual and hardcore gamers. In particular, the diversity of this game makes it a true pleasure, because everyone there is something. Nintendo learns from every stage of development and it shows in Super Smash Bros Brawl after each hour of play more. Beat'em'Up fans have access, all others as well. Especially the multiplayer the game promoted to the top league of video games. For you!
