Pro:
------
+ Full-fledged full-fledged tablet and laptop in one device (the latter, however, only with separately kaufendem accessories, see also the points 3 and 4 below Contra)
+ Top performance and functionality for daily work, housed in a (for that) amazingly thin and light body
+ Full-fledged operating system Windows 8.1 (see also item 3 below Neutral ")
+ Running at all times liquid and is excellent to use, making mobile working really fun
+ In almost all respects first class display, which, among other things larger (12 inches) and higher resolution (2160x1440) as the Pro 2
+ Thin (only 9.1 mm thick!) And just under 800g also about 100g lighter than the Pro 2
+ The integrated hinged stand for setting up the tablets can be much better (continuously) be transformed as the Pro 2 now
+ The supplied stylus feels high-quality and fits comfortably in your hand; facilitates touch-screen operation and allows z. B. also via handwritten notes
+ As a tablet, the device is well "balanced" in terms of weight distribution, so can be kept comfortable
+ Front and rear camera now both have 5 megapixel still image camera and can record videos in higher resolution (1080p instead of 720p now the Pro 2)
+ The fan is rarely heard in the operation, with undemanding tasks practically impossible; even if he turns up at high load times, but it bothers at no time
+ No unnecessary bloatware (praiseworthy because such software ballast with other manufacturers is not uncommon as I last z. B. S have experienced the purely private use Galaxy Tab)
+ Very good overall processing, stability and durability (ie optimally equipped for everyday mobile use)

Cons:
-------
- Hefty prices for all models (even for the entry-level model)
- No office suite not really comprehensible included in this price like with the Pro 2
- A keyboard cover, with which the device is only for full-fledged laptop is also (again) not included and must be bought extra
- Older Keyboard Cover are with the Pro 3 Although compatible, the screen protection but not as good as the Type Cover 3 (only this covers the screen completely), also enable older Cover the Pro 3 when closing not in the power saving mode (which can Unfortunately, even the Type Cover 3)
- Unfortunately only one USB 3.0 port (when compared to other tablets that have no USB port, which is indeed an ever more, but personally I would now welcome here at least 2 USB ports; other users are, however, perhaps with a port handle)
- The change in position of the "Home" button makes (at least for me) from time to time for accidentally pressing (the old central position in Pro 2 there was better in my opinion)
- For the pen are in the tablet itself, unfortunately, no "slot" for stowing

Neutral:
---------
o by the larger display in use as a pure tablet a bit unwieldy
o the advantages and disadvantages of the new 3: 2 format of the display stay roughly in balance or is it here strongly on the concrete use of (for table processing is the format in my opinion much better for watching videos on the other hand worse than 16: 9)
o the appearance of Windows 8.1 is still certainly not for everyone (but can be modified to happiness through small programs quickly, so this is not really a gripe for me)
o the battery lasts with me so far mostly about 6 hours; should, according to Microsoft up to 9 hours possible, I guess, that the battery should keep even with maximum load at least 4 hours (which I should but have yet to test) - the term could therefore certainly have been better, but really bad it is also and not as long as the unit by holding a working day, the battery does the job for me (usually is with me anyway loaded daily)
o the speaker can be described as appropriate, but in most cases is no different from other tablets (I myself use most anyway headset when it really comes down to the sound)
o the onboard graphics processor is the hardware-hungry games of the newest generation of course no match for (but who the Pro 3 buys itself to play ?!); but less graphically demanding games run most perfectly
o the reflections occurring on the display are not least thanks to its brightness in my opinion (even when compared to other devices) well to cope
o on scratch-susceptibility of the housing I can not say anything definite at the present time, but have been feeling that the vulnerability has at least not increased

Conclusion:
-------
The Surface Pro 3 is undoubtedly a premium product and as a full-fledged tablet laptop intersection without alternative on the market more or less in spite of the criticisms that still exist (such as the high price and the additional spending on Keyboard Cover, Office package and any USB port splitter). But processing, operation, mobility and functionality are first class; the display is great, even if the new 3: 2 format for one or the other at first perhaps is used to. Those looking for a tablet laptop hybrid (and still has none), with which one can work professionally productive without compromise, is the Pro 3 not really over. For owners of current Pro 2 is still around, in my view but no need to (immediately) to switch on the Pro 3. Anyone planning a transition, should simply wait to purchase until prices have fallen somewhat and then slam shut. Less demanding casual users or users who are looking for either just a normal tablet or a laptop, can be against the same look at the competition for cheaper alternatives. A star deduction there from me at the end because of the very high price, but the absence of office suite and Keyboard Cover a combination that I as a customer can not understand.
