Top image with weaknesses in the operation

It was said on TV here quite a bit. I have long hesitated between a favorable 55Zoll plasma (Panasonic) and LCD / LED (Samsung or Philips). Apart from the low purchase price but made me the plasma nothing convinced. For all devices that I've seen, I had the impression that there is a gray veil over the image. In addition, the power consumption of the plasma is no longer appropriate and the wrong signal, making at least 4 hrs on the day after my bill 200 euros in 5 years.
The decisive factor against such as a Samsung device has then given the design.

Here is my assessment after 1 week

Positives:
- The picture - and that's my opinion the main thing - is just great. I can not fault, etc. as Clouding, banding up now recognize. Image only one that football sometimes attracts Schlieren me. But I am not 100% sure.
- The look in brushed aluminum makes even what her - fits with us for brown living room much better than black piano lacquer.

Negatives:
- The remote control is not really succeeded, easily slips out of the hand and on the table around and sometimes reacts ert the second time press. However, I think all this is not that bad, as reported by some here. It is supposed to provide affordable, good universal remote controls.
- There is no image adjustment "original image", ie 4: 3 DVDs can be either zooming or distorted. I do not understand why there is no such option.
- Overall, the operation as a whole is really getting used to, I expect that, at least for tech-savvy operation should be intuitive. I do me really hard with it, but so far I have managed to do without the manual.

Neutral:
- A little bit ports (3xHDMI, 1xUSB). Was thinking if really time can all else fails so a USB hub or a HDMI switch are used.
- Sound: I notice neither positive nor negative: neither tinny but not so great as advertised.
- No 3D: my left I said, no one needs. My right I say that is you'll be sorry.

So that my assessment after 1 week. When I tested other functions, there's more info. For now, 1 point deduction for the negative criteria in total.
Incidentally, we have long wondered whether it should be a 46 or 55 inches at just 5 meters away. I was able to sit down with 55 inches and so far we have not looked back. The picture is on the distance just right.
