From the technical requirements that Bosch is of course much more better than the Black & Decker. The measurement accuracy is absolutely OK, with a tape measure could not be measured accurately even, especially on long distances. Functions as indirect measurement and the min max measurement is useful, storage, wall surface measurement, surfaces and space calculation are also nice. The range of 70 meters is sufficient to cover all measurement tasks on a single family house. What I really like, is the laser spot, which can be seen even before the measurement, and so facilitates the alignment of the measuring objective.
When operating the unit, Bosch could however some abschauen from competitors. That the measuring button has too deep pressure point and requires too much force, has been mentioned in other reviews. In addition, I find that it is too small and not well positioned. Were they on the side of the device and something smoother, like the B & D, you could use the device much easier with one hand. So it is a little difficult with the small footprint to keep the unit straight against the wall and at the same time press the stiff little button. When B & D can open the measuring head by 90 °, so you hang up the device flat on a surface and can easily be measured to an opposite surface. This function would be the Bosch also good.
Conclusion:
A great instrument with many useful features. Very good accuracy. Super price.
If I would need the equipment professionally every day, I'd probably due to the small operation difficulties another meter procure (eg Hilti), but these cost several hundred euros.
For a handyman like me, it is absolutely sufficient.
