The first volume of a trilogy ... Quite different from the rest of the work by this author (no space opera or fantasy) The style is quite pf hamilton ... but more compact: fewer characters ... smaller scale (but not less extensive or ambitions) .. In exchange for better details .. more density and presence for characters .. The plot is credible and it presents a real interest .. The context is really exciting: global warming, political upheavals, technological innovations, industries in orbit and many social circles to complex and interwoven interests. A double satisfaction: one explores a very thorough universe (or context is brought very clever way) and rubs a well designed plot (rather unpredictable) and served by engaging characters. There are plenty of "life" and this makes it a very enjoyable novel .. This universe has a long history (revolutionary upheavals, changes of regimes with political pressure groups (parties) and economic ("combines")). We also (one might think) in the past of the confederation of the dawn of the night !! This volume is sufficient in itself but strongly .. More ..
