Each album Jeff Beck is a mini-event in a moderately prolific discography. Is that Jeff never released an album for alleged commercial reasons. Man scene of recent times therefore returned to the studio, immortalizing the same time his recent group (Colaiuta, Wilkenfeld, Rebello). To quote some opinions, this album Jeff is probably one of the few to address the general public. I therefore find it less risky than his last album that were much more adventurous in terms of aesthetics and sound (including the splendid "Jeff"). But the kaleidoscopic misleading aspect of this disc is translated into a sometimes discreet homage, sometimes posted with musical influences (Screamin 'Jay Hawkins, Jeff Buckley ...) and pictorial (film music revisited) guitarist. Jeff has never hidden ambivalence of his musical aspirations, violent and aggressive sounds ("Hammerhead") to spacey and atmospheric climates ("Never alone"). The musical project remains very consistent, Jeff Beck Group as a project likes to point out in the libretto himself making discreet on some tracks, blending into the string orchestra ("Corpus Christi Carol") not encroaching on the flower beds of the invited singers but communing with them ("I put a spell on you", "Elegy for Dunkirk"). So it's a very good disk believed we offer British guitarist, a form of musical testament by one of the most influential guitarists of the past 40 years. Thank you Jeff.
