Hard to believe that the 14 double-CD series "Ulli Wenger's One Hit Wonder" is again of the usual quality. Again 36 songs from artists and bands are offered, each all had only one hit. The spectrum ranges from the 60-Jaqhren ("Sugar Sugar" by the Archies) until the current decade ("We No Speak Americano" by Yolanda Be Cool). One focus of this time form the 90s with numerous dance hits (including "Freed from Desire" of GALA, the "love is my rebellion" as Frida Gold 2013 again a hit was). 'One of the highlights is the rarity "Yes we can" by Artists Unlimited for Nature (one production, involved in, inter alia, Joe Cocker and the Queen guitarist Brian May). These under longstanding Bayern 3 listeners long-sought rarities "Xmas Time" Gingerbread, "Rainbow's End" of Sacco & Mancetti and "Late Night Taxi Dancer" by Peter Straker. Terrific as always lovingly and extensively researched booklet of Bayern 3 music experts Ulli Wenger. Here you can learn, for example, that at the fall 1981 television hit "Hubba Hubba Zoot-Zoot" Caramba longtime ABBA engineer Michael B. Tretow is involved. The 14 double-CD of "Ulli Wenger's One Hit Wonder" is an absolute must for people who are interested in pop music jungle not only for recurrent superstars.
