There are some years when three shadows came out, the previous comic of the author, I was moved by the work of Pedrosa: drawing, history, forming a true work, certainly not always pleasant to read all what was intimate and sad in it, but it was not really matter, because the result was magnificent. There, reading "Portugal", I was disappointed. I really wish enjoy this book, but I have not arrived. I hung to beyond page 80, and then I stopped. I closed the book because I frankly was bored, which had never happened in the case of a BD. The design is beautiful, controlled, but I felt that the story was going nowhere. Of course I have not read the book to the end - but frankly, I really do not, because of profound boredom. So I know that Pedrosa was awarded to Angouleme, that lots of kinds smarter than me will tell me that this is a comic masterpiece, etc. I also know that Pedrosa is an excellent draftsman, he has a talent for layout and a real sensitivity. But a comic, like a novel, it must be above all a story, and that will drive the reader, make him want to turn the page, to imagine, to travel in his head, as was the case for three shadows . There, for me, it is missed. It's a shame, it's frustrating, but it's like that.
