I needed a new power supply for my Compaq 6910. Unfortunately, this old has a broken wire. Since I already knew that my laptop with a counterfeit power supply has problems, I have ordered an original HP PSU. When I finally, the performance of the power supply was measured without connected notebook, I realized to my horror that here 20Watt be easily converted into heat. This is no longer appropriate. I can not say what it is, my old (with cable break) requires only 4Watt, as well as imitation, which does not want with my laptop unfortunately.
The defective and the new have all recently different part numbers, so you have to start from the PSU series here.
Anyone who buys a new, should the test in any case within the 14 day return policy and then maybe buy another power supply. As I said, the same basic data and on both is HP, one with and one with 20 Watt 4Watt.
