I wanted to write down my opinion and impressions about the coffee machine from Siemens here, because I am convinced of the device in such a way and it does not have to hide from much more expensive units. I have not purchased the product at Amazon, but at Tech Nick for just 550 euros, which is a very fair price for the device in my eyes. Incidentally, there is in my family several coffee machines including a device of Jura and two of Melitta (Cafeo CI, Barista TSP)
The construction, commissioning:
The unit is not packaged in 72 different bags but very functional secured with Styrofoam. You do not remove dozens of transportation safety as well. I think something positive, although it does not flow in my review.
The unit is due to simple package ready in a few steps. Plug in, water pure and away you go basically. Preliminary rinsed through and ready the device according to the instructions.
The Operation:
The device works in comparison with the upper devices at approximately the same speed. It takes about 40 seconds until it is ready for use. The Siemens unit seems a little quieter and less "mechanical" in the operation. The display is easy to read, accurate and shows everything is not speaking in choppy abbreviations. In operation, the manual is superfluous, what I'm used differently by many a microwave ;-) Especially for less technology people in love a big plus, because you can operate the device easily. The sensor areas work fine, and I can not find that you have to press several times. The milk foam system works smartly and makes thanks to the built-in cleaning function a confidence-inspiring impression. For cleaning I come later.
The Coffee:
I drink mostly espresso and regular coffee and can confirm here that the beans make the difference in the first place. The temperature is even with thick-walled cups perfectly adequate at Espresso and is far higher than that of Nespresso machines. If you want to adjust it some, this may still raise and lower it in the menu. The dairy products look as pictured, Macchiato just with latte you put yes but a certain emphasis on ;-) Tasting doing everything super, just makes the machine Cappuccino "wrong direction", so my girlfriend selfsame not found so attractive. Melitta makes here until the espresso, then the milk froth, the way it is "right".
The Cleaning:
The device makes of other devices used in switching on / off clean. Here, I will always provide a cup under the spout so that the drip tray is not often fully. Between the coffee it makes you feel internally clean, but you can see them, understandably do not. The most interesting is probably the milk system. Unfortunately, suggests the image that you put a bottle of milk in a hole and it cleans there. This is not provided by Siemens, but also works :-) Actually can you put it out loud display statement in an empty cup. The brewing unit can be removed and rinsed by a simple action. Overall I would say it is just as you'd expect. The surfaces are kept insensitive and will not be so sensitive to dirt or splashes.
Additional information:
The beans will trade fairly tightly sealed in the lid, a rubber gasket is incorporated.
The teaspoon is also a water filter to use, without having to get their hands wet.
The device has, according nichtprofessionellem energy cost meter, 0.8 watt standby recording.
For espresso cups of variable outlet could be drawn a little deeper.
Conclusion:
All in all I have to say that the device can match the final product also produces larger and especially more expensive machines.
Of course there are certain deductions such as the inability to change the blend amount of dairy products, as there are no profiles for different family members in the household. For this, the device also some costs but less.
I would buy the unit definitely be back and would recommend it unreservedly.
EDIT 05/31/2015:
Yesterday, the machine would have the first cleaning. I have set the lowest water hardness level and use a water filter, have the corresponding active in the menu. The whole thing has held 185 cups of coffee and 35 cups of latte.
Considering the fact that an original tablet costs about 2.50, that's fine and to be expected. The cleaning was easy and could be carried out by persons unwilling, the menu tells everything I had but the quick instructions placed next to the security to avoid error.
