This historic book written by Nicolas Leroux (professor of history at the university Lumière Lyon 2) has 300 pages in the geopolitical context of the 16th century well beyond the military coronation of François 1er at Marignano (Italy 1515). This historic victory (which the passage was the bloodiest battle since the beginning of the war from Italy) we discover a victory that will quun trompe l'oeil ... ten years later François 1er at the headquarters of Pavia (1525) lived his most crushing defeat.
I appreciated the writing rich and detailed that allows you to get a clear idea of the disputes of the times, even if the first part is (see too much) detail (no protagonist will save you) i really happened dexcellent moments with this book, the second part is more educational and the victory of Marignan is purely anecdotal until the late 15th century and early 16th upheavals were rich and well reported.
