When the new (double) CD came out of Anouar Brahem, I bought the same as me "The Astounding Eyes Of Rita" had excited. But at the first listen it has not approached me, the second not. There is no music that can be heard every day. So they had to be put there. Tonight she has me but then packed. And how!

Quiet, a little dark and heavy and at the same time wonderful and highly musical. What's on the two disks on it, is simply awesome. Oud, piano, bass clarinet and bass (and partly the orchestra) put a lot of space and time to the wonderful pieces almost - so it seems - to be as arise by itself. Here each is a work of art in itself and would already justify an Evening of Listening to yourself. Sprinkle with the naturally perfect sound of ECM. 7 star!
