The remote control has been extremely reduced. They had previously quite a large FB, so the W750 comes time therefore with a rather tiny Remote Control. Unfortunately the keys are not illuminated at this specimen.
Now we come to the device itself: I tested the version without short-throw projection.
The previous series had been published so little bumpy. There was the W700 in three versions (3D-Ready / short distance / 3D over HDMI 1.4), which appeared gradually. In particular, the direct connectivity of 3D hardware was implemented only after the event, which has certainly angered so many buyers of the first generation.
The W750 now combines all the advantages of the W700 series and puts technically still something to Power.
Now there are plump 2500 Ansi Lumens (+ 300 lumens to its predecessor), Contrast 13,000: 1 (+ 3,000) and also the lamp life has been increased: up to 6,000 hours to 6,500. The projector lamp comes incidentally from Philips.
You realize these improvements in performance? YES! Both the increase in light output, as well as the advanced contrast differ from the visible image of W700er series. But where you have to say that the 700 also has a very bright and quite high-contrast image. Nevertheless, the W750 turns it up up a gear.
Overall impression: The picture quality is only 720p despite just very good. Whether TV, DVD or Blu-Ray, the W750 brings a sharp, high-contrast and colorful picture on the screen, which really knows to convince and not extremely breaks on larger diagonals. One need not be a complete darkening of the room, because the projector can puts away some of its light output.
Volume fan: Normal. You can hear the projector depending on the projection times louder and quieter times, but never really disturbing. Which is of course a subjective impression.
Rainbow effect: Well, is just a DLP projector. Who is particularly susceptible to the rainbow effect (visual perception, with which one the individual colors of the projector in the picture clearly as flashing strip or similar perceives) who might have problems in this model. I suppose the effect sometimes on relatively short distance true, my wife can not see him. Who is strongly susceptible of it will soon notice, technically it is not eradicated completely in any case.
Built-in Speaker: Also, the W750 has again built a makeshift speakers with 10W power. The course is not intended for high audio enjoyment, but to use on the go or when spontaneous watching movies / playing much better than many of the built-in horns at the competition. Nice to have!
3D: shutter technology! So you need an active glasses. 3D hardware (Player, PC, Notebook, etc) can be directly connected via HDMI 1.4 and away you go. The effect is working properly, the image brightness appear slightly darker and has the advantage to provide itself sharply, etc. As a result, the result even better than the movies look where you at the mercy is in fact dependent on the local projection technician. One can incidentally also play 3D side-by-side and top / bottom coding. The W750 is in this regard practically a complete package, only the glasses you have to buy.
Other: The projector has a rapid cooling function, which works perfectly! Make up and pack away! Great if you use the projector mobile. Can be switched on and off in the menu. In addition, it has built several power-saving Modie which should also help to preserve the expensive lamp.
Conclusion: Great! The BenQ W750 combines all the advantages of the previous series and sets at reduced housing dimensions technically again really good mood. The remote I liked the predecessor better, but otherwise there is nothing to complain about. For straightforward money, you get a top-equipped 720p 3D video projectors, who knows too much convincing.
