A sublime free on love and boredom, two recurring themes in the writings of Moravia. For those familiar with the movie, the book has a broader vision, more access on the character of the man, so different from the work of Godard. Beautiful passages that are not found in the film, as the passage of the boat. But as Godard presents in his introduction, the film is only "interpretation" of the book of Moravia.
