Due to my being a Christian, my interest in English, the English sermons that I hear and books that I read,
and from an extended stay in the US last summer, I had the idea zuzulegen an English Bible to me in advance.
After intensive prayer and counsel-hauling I came to the conclusion to buy me this issue.
Translation:
Translation is very easy to understand. One might worry that it is therefore a lack of accuracy in the translation.
But my enthusiasm I'm in the 'English Standard Version' previously encountered only a few words,
which I believe translates in comparison with other Bible translations and the output words of the Bible languages for inappropriate or incomplete.
It is my impression more precisely than the German Schlachter 2000 translation, which I have previously used (with joy) as my Standard Bible.
Translators go in the introductory text itself already very honest to the problems, which must bring a translation of the Bible with him.
This text has further inspired me is the full meaning of words and expressions, as well as the environment and the
to explore character-specific influences in the language of the scriptures more and more, and to be included in my understanding.
The honesty of the introduction carries over (my impression) on the overall impression:
They want to encourage the reader with this edition of the Bible for self-study and / or assist in it.
Layout:
The Bible is and remains a Christian entered the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16), whether with a pleasant layout or without.
But it is nice to watch, in fact, how careful but determined the layout is selected.
For the interested reader of the Bible makes the Bible reading more enjoyable and fascinating.
The layout does not distract, but will it help texts to understand, to recognize relationships and quotes.
That is the form of layout, which can use a Bible in my opinion well.
The middle column, which is used for the cross-points, legibility improved by another.
Moreover, everywhere enough space to write notes to the edge, to emphasize rows or einzukringeln things.
Other:
The texts that introduce the books are helpful without being intrusive.
You want the reader to the following Bible book arouse interest by trying briefly summarize the content.
However, they are not too long, so that they would catch the view. You could overlook smooth.
The 'Red Letters' (Jesus' words are printed in red type) contribute to the clarity with very.
The attached Concordance (expressions register with specified passages) is extremely useful.
The only thing that I personally wanted to add a phrase to explain Bible terms,
as I find it, for example in my butcher's 2000 translation.
However, I got for Christmas a 'Encyclopedia of Bible Words' (Zondervan) paid,
which absolutely meets these needs. :)
....................................
I highly recommend this Bible translation and output to anyone who speaks English.
I am pleased to have, by God's guidance my personal right decision when it comes to 'English Bible' hit,
and hope you (John 16:16) will be long a blessing to me for a little while. :)
