A blast of rock Blues

Blues for the Modern Daze (Limited Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Sometimes I do not quite know where Walter Trout has all his ideas forth. Of all the studio albums he has released solo, drops only The Outsider a little, because it was a little bland without great highlights. He had resolved with Common Ground directly again this shortcoming and now he sits with this new output again one better.

To me Blues for the modern Daze one of the strongest albums in the solo work of Walter. The album is again fallen very varied and bursting with incredible intensity. The recordings have plenty of power under the boiler. So rock Walter was far from being, perhaps for the last time before to Go the Distance by 2001. Of course, Walter waived not on slower pieces, but none of the ballade Keren pieces has got sweet, but for himself just such intensity as the crunchy rock songs. These come from the overall impression that a few compositions in very classic blues style are maintained.

Perhaps this intensity comes along that have for the first time mainly Walters touring band Sammi Avila, Rick Knapp and Leisure Michael recorded the album. On separate pieces of one or other guest operating with. But it results in a certain Live character. Anyone who was able to attend one of his concerts, know what I mean. Altogether can be found on the album, of course, all the trademarks of a good Walter Trout album, he certainly does not invent a new one. Nevertheless, Walter manages to one or another song, his Fender Strat to elicit completely surprising tones. The best example is Money Rules the World, where he really nice torments his instrument, they can howl heartbreakingly, a stomping crunchy rockers.

As on most of his albums Walter has always compositions on it that belong to the finest blues-rock. These include the Anspieltipps You can not go home again, Never knew you well, Brother's Keeper and the title track. But what is important, there is no failure on the album and with Blues For My Baby is also a very worn classic Blue piece on it.

The Ltd. Edition has a comprehensive booklet, among other things with the biography of Walter. She's like a little book opened with Papprücken very nice. It is guaranteed on the website that this edition will be launched only once.

Have fun with the 'Old Guitar', Jimmy Trapp will be delighted in heaven ...
