Delta Spirit meets exactly my taste with 'History from Below' more or less. All the more surprising that I'm not used to it encountered, but as shit now the dog on it. It's a mix of rock, blues and soul. Some songs are very quiet, others, then eventually break out to an impressive climax. But all they are very melodic, atmospheric and memorable, have their own rhythm and speed.
I would particularly like to highlight 'Bushwick Blues',' St. Francis' and the aforementioned 'Ballad of Vitaly', which is certainly one of the most impressive. As little information on the edge that really makes the latter song in particular, let me say that it is based on Vitaly Kaloyev, who lost after a plane crash over Germany a few years ago his wife and children and then killed the responsible air traffic controllers.
'Scarecrow' and 'Vivian' are the quieter songs, psychedelic and somehow different from the others, but just as worth listening to and a nice change.
Very diverse album that I will certainly hear it very often. Of course, I am forced to me her first album 'Ode to Sunshine' also have to listen. I'm curious. Also on what's to come from this band.
