My requirements:
- Light (around 1000 lumens)
- Handy
- Balance of Throw and Flood (which then focusing on my
Purposes superfluous)
- Low light level available (1 lumen at level 1, lights up if necessary as an emergency light
over two weeks)
- No, one-button operation, to avoid having to constantly cycle through the brightness levels
- Good price / performance ratio
Where those requirements have been met, the P16 is high-quality, the delivery is complete including holster and the luminosity is truly impressive. The stated 289 meter beam range is expected to reach easy, particularly impressive with reflective signs in several hundred meters away.
This lamp is bright (!) And also quite use in an emergency, for the defense.
On turbo level lets any potential aggressor momentarily blind, which can provide a self valuable seconds of action. Therefore suitable, moreover, for the ladies handbag, one (woman) definitely feels more secure with such a lightsaber in his luggage. Would certainly been something for Princess Leia
The compact size and intuitive operation contribute its part.
The functions of the P16 are described in detail on the manufacturing side and in various tests, after repeated use, I can confirm that essentially everything is working as it should. The light is flickering, feel and the different modes of the lamp are as expected.
The only drawback: The electronics of the P16 seems to be not quite ready for what so far but manifests itself only in the additional functions.
The battery level indicator in the side switch developed a life of its own and flash even when the batteries are full, which in turn the Volt specified with the lamp off (By pressing both buttons is output via a flash code, the battery voltage) confirmed. Somewhat contradictory!
In addition, the regulation of turbo level does not take place after three minutes at least on my copy. The brightness remains unchanged, so I've stopped the test after five minutes. The lamp was then so hot that I could barely touch.
I must say that before I only briefly use the Turbo mode, similar to the main beam of a car. Alone in terms of battery consumption and heat generation rather economical to use, the lower 230 lumens emitted level for normal use more than enough light.
Conclusion: A great lamp with slight weaknesses in detail, with whom I can live however. The functionality is not affected in any way, and that is what ultimately counts.
Make light they can, and plenty of it!
Due to the electronic bugs I forgive only four stars, otherwise it would have been easy five. May the Force be with you ...... .. phhh..phhh
