A connected drive

This new Philips drive BOP series can play Blu-ray and Blu-Ray 3D. The quality of the image and sound are within the requirements of most of the BOP. The initiation seffectue in twenty seconds. The drive is fairly quiet. It also allows you to play DVD-Video, DVD-R / RW, DVD + R / RW, Audio CD and CD-R / RW. The unit has an HDMI output, an optical output for audio and a USB 2.0 input located washing (much more convenient Quà the back!). This USB port allows you to play the files imported from the PC (or other): music, videos and images. The unit recognizes the key standards files (video: .avi, .divx, .mp4, .mkv, .wmv; Audio: .mp3, .wma, .wav; picture: .jpg, .gif, .png). The player also plays DivX (Ultra) and DiVx Plus HD.

But the big news of the player lies in its connectivity. It can connect to the Internet ugly Ethernet port but also with Wi-Fi. This connection allows to update the drive, you can access different bonus Blu-Ray (BD-Live) but also to take advantage of applications (Youtube, Skype, Weather,) pre-installed in the tab SmartTV. Applications are still slow and lergonomie with the remote control is quite heavy. At lheure where everyone connects with their phone or tablet, it remains gadget. Personally, I prefer a direct HDMI connection between my TV and my PC for dInternet big screen.
Note that setting the Wi-Fi connection is very simple, especially when dealing with the first connection to the Box.

Connected to the home network (jOperation wireless router connected to my Internet Box), the player takes advantage of the DLNA technology to simplify sharing of data between different devices connected to the network (phone, tablet, PC).
By installing the EyeConnect software on my MacBook, I was able to share in my iTunes Wi-Fi music, my videos and images of my last vacation. However, the connection quite regularly cut lorsquun case is quite heavy including folders of photos. Listed with an Ethernet connection.

By downloading The application 'Philips MyRemote' in the App Store or Android, it is possible to transform your smartphone into a remote control. After a few seconds, the digital remote control is divided into three parts on the screen of the smartphone. Rather nice to use, it should be noted some lag time, which is quite disadvantageous when lon viewing a slide show (the interest seems therefore limited, the "normal" remote largely fulfilling its function). Note that like all Philips equipment, EasyLink technology allows to use a single remote control for all devices connected by HDMI.

This drive also offers the diffusion of multimedia content with the technology and the Miracast SimplyShare. For the latter, I havent found any code on the box or in the manual, so impossible to run The application 'Philips SimplyShare "(only Landroid Store). For cons, the application 'Philips MyRemote' offers SimplyShare without entering a code. The principle of sharing is very intuitive, he fact that just comes to select the file from the phone or tablet to be directly read on the Blu-Ray player. Practical!

The batteries for the remote control are provided, as well quun manual, paper and CD (clear and precise).
