A cult saga

I will not dwell on the quality of books, others have done before me. A mandatory read in English if only one is not anglophobe and you have the correct level as the French translation is poor. Martin's style is simple and direct, no frills, which makes it very pleasant to read.

Prefer this edition (UK) to the American edition (UK: HarperVoyager / US: Bantam Books): the paper is better and the text is less compact. Sure it's a bit more expensive, but when you embark on 5000 pages of frenetic and passionate reading, a few extra euros for even more comfort does not seem to me too.
