A dazzling trip to Ancient Rome ....

A new license on a new machine with a world that too few offered in the video game, a genre whose heyday was in the 90s ... a risk taken by Crytek and Microsoft to try to propose a Video Experience intense fun and memorable. A risk that unfortunately has not paid, the title having been unjustly under-noticed by the press ... and yet .....

This Ryse Son of Rome dazzles from the first minutes of play (after an admittedly laborious System Installation ...) is a real visual and audible slap that is taken directly into the gums .... having become accustomed playing on a beautiful 1080p 60fps PC config, the shock is unexpected to say the least .... The developers have their babies cared for down to the smallest details, landscapes, architecture, armor .... we feel that goldsmith work was provided, although the full power of the machine is not yet mastered, and the result is quite encouraging for the future of the Xbox One ...

For a game launch, Ryse Son of Rome perfectly fulfills his contract, the first to offer us all the expected technical slap sign of the gap between the new and the old generation console, but also good entertainment, with a story to the very elaborate writing (Crytek has clearly improved on this point). The characters are charismatic, with a rarely reached level modeling (special mention to facial expressions and skin texture amazing narrowly). So it's no evil that identifies with our hero Marius Titus, and his history of Rome that will transport us to remote plains distant barbarian lands ....

The gameplay is nervous, simple but technical and after a short adjustment period, it makes enemies with speed and violence, blood and members spurt, bodies maimed and cover the scars of the fighting without mercy ... . enjoyable but sensitive souls refrain.

The title unfortunately not avoid certain pitfalls specific to the genre of "beat them all" and after a few hours of play, a certain repetitiveness moved. This could have been avoided by offering more varied situations (very few weapons available, no chariot racing, no open environments to explore, almost no pets, insufficient variety of enemies ...) Elements that could also come expand friendly multiplayer mode, but limited to mere skirmishes in modular arenas. Note also a micro-transaction system (decidedly new videogame fashion ....) for faster progress in the adventure and the multiplayer mode. Fortunately dispensable therefore useless.

Despite these flaws, Ryse Son of Rome turns out to be indispensable to any amateur adventure action and any fan of that distant time when the Caesars ruled the world ... A world brilliantly transcribed where we plunge happy to unlock the secrets of the game and the Legendary difficulty. Crytek Congratulations!
