That I'm Not convinced this is a good size (see my review of Osprey Combat 1) aims at
least here in the hands of an author Experienced do you get more of a sense from thesis
accounts of what It was like to be there. Nevertheless, I would recommend "Taste of
Battle "by Bryan Perret for more evocative accounts - Albeit They Are fictionalised (goal
based on fact).
Here you get a chapter on the soldiers Themselves - recruitment, training, weapons,
tactics, ethics, leadership and logistics; this is by far the Most Interesting chapter. Then
we have - Clearly the standard for this series - accounts of three from the action
soldier's eye view.
