Hypothesis 2: I have all the previous albums. I already bought twice "Lights" just to acquire the essential bonus "Bright Lights" (including the resumption of Elton JOHN, "Your Song). Now I have to buy a second time" Halcyon "for titles bonuses that are on "Halcyon Days". Incidentally, I have bought four times the wonderful single "Lights" (the signature song Ellie GOULDING offered, each time in superfluous bonus). As for the recent small wonders that make here figure of "bonus", they could be the subject of a real new album ... "Halcyon Days" is certainly very rich but "Halcyon" was already damn invigorating (see my review).
By dint of listening and listen Ellie GOULDING, one begins totally in love with this girl. One of the nicest things that are coming from the UK ... and the English are experts to provide us with scholarly pop wonders: Eliza Doolittle, Paloma Faith or even Cher Lloyd Diana Vickers (to speak only of crunchy girls struggling to cross the Channel). Moreover, Ellie GOULDING is naturally a notch above all truck products of the moment. Above, too, Imogen Heap, Florence + The Machine, Marina & The Diamonds, Bat For Lashes and many funky electropop diva from England ...
With the tone of a miraculous Ondine that eventually would refuse to become bourgeois, Ellie GOULDING is with his roomie American Lissie MAURUS (a much more rock Americana roommate at the base), one of the girls that we should not leave aside in 2014.
5/5 to 1/5 for the content and marketing strategy: average 3/5. But what disk and ... what girl! ...
