The representation of money in the novels of Jane Austen (Paperback)

Customer Review

Of course, to appreciate this work (doctoral thesis) it is better to know well the novels of Jane Austen and the secondary characters as the heroes (and read English, because all the quotes are original language). But, that said, it reads like a novel. We understand why the money holds such a place in class society where the homeless live-sou ("pennyless" in English) Elizabeth Bennet, Fanny Price or Anne Elliot, but Lucy Steele, Charlotte Lucas and Jane Fairfax ; why it is so important to make a "beautiful" wedding for a girl or gentleman to forget the mercantile origin of his fortune by buying a domain is when the son of rich merchant. We appreciate the best of luck to Elizabeth Collins then refuse to marry Darcy, or Fanny Price to resist Henry Crawford. We see the evolution of the author among youth novels and those of maturity, and why Jane Austen is a great writer!
