Everything has already been written about Beethoven sonatas on her, and probably the best interpretations that are available (Yves Nat, Alfred Brendel, etc). I dare add my voice to many leading experts. The latter, by Wilhelm Kempff, is undoubtedly one of the best. Widely hailed by critics, and very fortunately reprinted from the records of the sixties, it is restored to us with remarkable sound quality at a very attractive price (in the 22 to import US). This makes for a feature article for any nightclub, an essential for both the beginner as amateur musicologist. Berlin Wilhelm Kempff (who retired in Italy thereafter) was nearly seventy-five years old when he recorded for the third time this integral; he was already tried it twice during his long career, early on wax cylinder and LP. This version of maturity is the top of his game.
